Hell Is The Tie That Binds (Magical Forces #3.5) by Hope Daniels & Alicia Dawn - New Release, Review and Excerpt

BLURB

All is not well in paradise...

Zoey cannot forgive Pack Alpha Ryan for a wrong that hits too close to home. They’ve kept secrets from one another, but it hasn’t kept Zoey from wanting Ryan with the same intensity as day one. The question is, does Ryan still want her?

Ryan will keep his Pack safe above all else. He accepted the position of Alpha, and will now play his part. Even if keeping them safe means he has to get blood on his hands.

In a story of love and revenge, can two flames come together in a time of crisis and lead a Pack and a Coven to victory or will they born so hot, they destroy everything they have created?

EXCERPT

Stubborn, hard-headed, wide-shouldered, good-smelling, sexy, dimpled, Alpha asshole. Zoey was fuming over Ryan not talking to her like an equal. She was tired of him not apologizing. Tired of feeling hurt, and oh so very tired of him not touching her body and her soul. But dammit, a witch had to stand up against the domineering bad-ass men out there. Ryan had made promises. What pissed her off most was what Ryan could do to her with just a heated look. “Oh, I am going to smack him up one side and down the other.” “Who, Mama?” Lincoln asked with a smirk. Zoey’s gazed zeroed in on the red cup he held by his cheek. The hint of his dimples made her grit her teeth. “Never you mind who. You just be glad you got away with what you did today, Mister. Next time you won’t be so lucky, because I will empty the red juice with a snap of my fingers. Do you understand?” Link’s eyes grew wide and he shook his head in affirmation before running off to join Christian in the playroom. Zoey had tons of laundry to do as usual. It wasn’t as if Ryan lifted a finger to help her do any of the household chores. Oh no. He sat on his ass and played with his guns. She not only had to run her household, but had to worry about the coven, moving the orphanage, Sean, and what he and Edwin were planning next. Oh, and how could she forget the ‘mysterious witch’ who helped free Edwin? Goddess, it was a wonder she got any sleep. Mysterious my ass. I know exactly who the bitch is and she needs to pay for everything she has done. Lifting the lid of the washer, Zoey just about gagged. Ryan had thrown his socks into the washer and closed the lid. She let the top slam closed. “Ryan James Taylor! Get your hairy ass in here!” she shouted, not bothering to temper her anger. The man had stepped on her last nerve. “I cannot believe he would leave his stinky as shit socks, with the lid closed for me—” Zoey lifted the lid again. This time she breathed through her mouth to avoid the stench and started to prepare the load for the wash cycle. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Ryan leaning against the door frame, arms crossed over his wide chest, biceps bulging. Everything about him screamed of the pleasures she denied herself. She may have been able to speak to him nicely if he had spoken. She may have been able to control herself if he had offered to help. She may not have added magik to the socks she drew out of the washer, balled up and tossed at Ryan if...if he had not grinned at her and snorted. “Wash your own damn socks, Wolf. I am not your maid. I am your wife and I have important matters to deal with. I’ve potions to brew, witches to confer with and children to save. Not from one, but two immortals, thanks to you and your boyfriends, fuck you very much.” Yes, I would like to have you fuck me very much. Zoey stepped to the side and ushered Ryan towards the washer. “What? Is this task beneath the high and mighty Ryan Alpha Wolf Taylor?” Without a word, Ryan walked to the washer, added more white clothes to his socks, then poured in the detergent and softener, all while keeping the smile on his face. Zoey took a quick step back when the washer started, but found herself boxed in between her hot husband and the dryer. Her mouth went dry and her pulse jumped to fight-or-flight speeds at his nearness. While her body wanted him to lift her up onto the machine and strip her down, her mind still ruled. Nipples reaching for his attention, they both knew she was wet and ready. Her scent would give her away. It was all she could do not to jump into his arms and wrap her legs around his waist. Where was my B.O.B. when I need it? How could I forget? Ryan made me throw them all out, saying he was all I was ever going to need. Well I need something long, thick and very hard now and he isn’t available. Zoey turned her head to the side, her hand pressed against Ryan’s unmoving pecs as his nose grazed her neck, coming within a hair's breadth from her lips. “It’ll all be April fresh in thirty, Darlin’. Be back then. Is that time enough to save the world?” A growl filled the laundry room, but it wasn’t from Ryan. Zoey growled at the retreating back of the big bad wolf when he tugged a lock of her hair and winked at her all with that damnable smile on his face. “I am going to kick your ass, Ryan, and save the world in thirty minutes,” she retorted before heading outside to pace. She had more important plans to make and put into place besides worrying about whether or not the wolf would ever truly apologize.

ARC REVIEW

Ryan and Zoey start off this book having a bit of a domestic, and I have to admit I love it when Zoey is pissed with Ryan, it's very entertaining and pissed or not the sexual tension between them is 🔥.

The back story of this series continues but this book takes a turn as Ryan is forced to visit his family pack. Zoey has to make a few adjustments to help Ryan in his quest.

I did mention sexual tension previously but it gets to point where the Zoey is beyond desperate for some action, but Ryan being an alpha/Dom in the bedroom wants something Zoey doesn't give easily, submission. Now if that wasn't hot enough, due to circumstances that have unfolded in the story, they're being watched!

I really enjoyed exploring Ryan's family and pack more. Ryan and Zoey are entertaining enough but we have their bunch of friends (who most have their own books) included too for added humour and some angst!

If you love paranormal romance, sassy and bossy witches, alpha shifters and a lot more entities you'll love this sexy, humorous and angsty at times book and series.

New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant “skillfully melds history and legend” (RT Book Reviews) in a brand new series – The Kindred.

To live in the light, they hunt in the dark…

Unparalleled in beauty and daring, Leoma has been raised with a single-minded focus—to wipe out corrupt witches. But when her new target leads her to a discovery that unveils a graver plan from the Coven, she doesn’t hesitate to follow. Yet, she’s not the only one on the hunt. And the sexy, infuriating man who crosses her path could prove to be a distraction—something she’s never encountered before.

Honor and family mean everything to Braith. When his life is turned upside down by the murder of his ward and heir without cause or reason, he has no choice but to turn to vengeance. Until a stunning, dangerous woman continues to thwart his efforts at every turn. Now, he must battle not only his need for revenge but his desire for the female, as well.

ARC REVIEW

Braith is an earl on the hunt for a witch, he gets stopped in his tracks by a woman named Leoma who happens to be a Witch hunter and is after the same woman/witch.   They agree to go hunting together, on their journey they find danger, betrayal, magic and romance.

I found this a great start to a new series, it is a set in a time gone by, no mobile phones to communicate, just ravens!  The characthers are developed through the story and you soon become attached and find yourself taking a deep breath when danger is afoot.

So in this book you have Witch Hunters and Witches and another faction that is very interesting!

I look forward to reading more in this series.

Review Post - Magical Forces Series By Hope Daniels & Alicia Dawn “Where Magic and Passion Collide”

Magical Forces Series
By Hope Daniels & Alicia Dawn
“Where Magic and Passion Collide”

Synopsis:

Soulmates, fate, happily ever after. It’s all bull. At least it feels like it to, ex Navy Seal, J.T. Kirkland. A witch trained in battle magic, his affinity for water has made him the perfect seaman much to his family’s dismay. For J.T. working for the Supreme Witch’s Council was not on the agenda. Neither was falling for the hottest dame he’d ever seen, Tessa Windham.

The farmer’s daughter from Kansas moves to the big city to find adventure and do her duty with the American Witch’s Council. What is a bored secret agent to do? Certainly not lose her heart to a charming smile and devastating blue eyes, but lose it she did until J.T. left for war.

Fifty years later they meet again. Only Tessa doesn’t remember her Navy man. Can J.T. break through the barriers which cloud Tessa’s mind to discover the truth about their estranged past, or will they forever be together, but miles apart?

ARC REVIEW

This is book 3 in the series, this series has great mixture preternatural men and women all with their own special abilities and skills and all have a sassy/strongwilled personalities!

Its time for J T to get his woman, his loved her for a long time - yes he teases her and winds her up a lot but Tessa can't help but feel attraction for the man.

I found this book different to previous books in the series - they all have love stories mixed with a dangerous baddie in the background but this book felt deeper, the characthers have met before in another time and this definitely added another layer of emotion to the story for me.

J T is a sweetie, his a very patient man and I found that charming. I, of course, loved it when they got together and Tessa realised what she has been missing.

The story is told in two time periods, and is easy to follow All the other characthers are in the story, Pete and Annabeth, Zoey and the delicious Ryan. There is plenty of banter between them all, but its not just banter - they are all there to support one another.

If you love shifters and witches this is a series you should pick up. You could read this on its own BUT I would recommend starting with book 1.

Threeish words description - Magical, Romance and entertaining Banter

4.5 Yay - at last they're together stars!

ARC REVIEW

Book two in Magical Forces series, this book is all about Anna the witch and Pete the DJion or to you and me a genie!

The book starts soon after book 1, Pete's busy building a home for Zoey and her sexy shifter. Zoey asked Anna to keep an eye on Pete and feed him occasionally.

Anna is still pretending she doesn't like Pete and it is so obvious she does, Pete doesn't really hide that he likes her, but he loves winding her up. As with lots of couples that try to deny the feelings or attraction, so they have lots of sparring matches. I was trying to find a word for Anna... headstrong, feisty, powerful, sexy all suit her. Words to describe our Genie, Alpha male, kinky, caring, strong and very magical and occasionally blue!.

When someone from Anna's past show up, Pete has to step up regardless of protests from Anna that she is fine. When Anna lets her guard down things heat up. I have to say that kitchen table has seen a lot of action.

There comes a time reinforcements have to be called in and a grand rescue set up, but it is so much more complicated than they think....

I love a passionate couple, and when I say passionate I don't just mean the sex and these two fit that bill.

Newt, what can I say - I can't wait for him to be tamed, he's so ruthless, has a slightly evil side or could I say Psychotic but only towards baddies, his book will be fun.

This book is full magic, baddies, passion, angst and danger and a few seriously romantic moments <3

ARC REVIEW

A fab new series from Cassandra Lawson that had me spellbound!

Witches, Warlocks, Succubus, Demons, Vampires and Shifters this book has it all the full preternatural world.

I have to admit I find the idea of Warlocks very sexy, Dylan Hunt is a strong Warlock that plays the field rather than trying to meet his other witch half, his mother does his best to match him up but his having none of it.

Dylan has a trusted friend Trevor, his a bit of a man whore too, he throws parties and gets lots of women. He is also a partner in their law firm.

Allie is Succubi, she feeds on sex if she doesn't she gets tired, she is rather different though she doesn't like to have sex all the time, so she works at a sex club to feed off other people's sexual energy. Her attitude to sex changes when she meets Dylan Hunt.

Some people are meant to be and these two are explosive together, they really fire off each other in and out of the bedroom. When Allie is put in danger Dylan steps in to protect her and that gives them the perfect chance to get to know each other more. Allie is independent and fights Dylan as she is scared of getting her heart hurt, they're really fun to read about and watch grow closer.

The dialogue in this book is so funny, you have to remember Allie is a Succubus so when her mother calls her to talk, it's things like 'are you getting enough sex', 'me and your grandmother have shared many a man at an orgy' (not exact words - just a taste) - really laugh out loud moments.

Along with our main two characthers the rest of the cast are full of interesting back stories that wet your appetite for future books in series, I loved Mel and how bolshie she is, and one of Allies 'pets' sounds interesting.

Great characther development and a good story that flows easily will keep you 'spelled' to this book.

A fun and sexy read with enough mystery to make a perfect PNR read.

Assasin's Kiss by Sharon Kay - Release Day - Excerpt - Review

OUT NOW!

Blurb

Warrior Scorpio finds himself alone on a botched op. No weapons, no communication devices, injured…and instantly recognized by a group of witches who want him dead.

Witch Tessa promises to marry a rival leader to save her people. But she never planned on the new prisoner in her coven. Scorpio, a rough, former mercenary makes the outrageous claim that she belongs to him.

Even from behind bars, the longer Scorpio stays, the more he unsettles Tessa and she questions all she thought she knew. Choosing him will put everyone she cares for at risk. He’s nothing like she expected, and the last thing she could dare to want.

Excerpt
They reached the forest floor, and Scorpio crouched to allow Tessa’s feet to reach the ground. “Made it,” he said.
Solid ground met her feet and logically she knew she could let go. But it was all too much. Shudders raced along her arms as she loosened her lock on his neck and her legs went ragdoll-limp. “Catch me?” She slid backward.
He spun blessedly fast and scooped her into a cradle hold against his torso. “I got you,” he whispered.
She sighed and curled into him, still too shaky to process anything. He walked away from the trunk and she wondered idly if he planned to carry her all the way home, but he stopped at a different tree and lowered them both to the soft grass. Tension leached out of her muscles as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, shielding her and soothing her with a tenderness she could never have anticipated.
“I got you,” he repeated, stroking her hair. “It’s over. I don’t detect any more wolves.”
She raised her head to look around, but all she saw were trees. She realized he had positioned them to not see any wolf bodies. “Thank goodness.” Laying her head on his chest, she listened to the strong steady thump of his heart and breathed in the clean scent of him, now tinged with the smoke of his demonfire. Thank the gods he’d been here today. What if it had just been her and Zeebi?
They’d both be dead. She shuddered.
His hand was warm on her arm, and his other was draped across her legs, holding the back of one knee. She studied them, noting several tiny scars, evidence of a life lived harshly, and also seeing the strength that could snap a neck. The push-pull tugged at her heart.
Those hands had ended hundreds of lives.
Those hands had just saved hers. Again.
How was this possible? He held her as though she were a priceless jewel.
Tessa tilted her head to look up at him. She had never noticed how long his eyelashes were. Stubble dusted his square jaw, and she wondered again at the mix of color in his hair.
He met her gaze, those incredible golden eyes simmering with a hotly sensual light. She knew about Lash demons, that their eyes gleamed when in battle, or when experiencing strong emotions. Including lust.
Something pulsed in the air between them, and slowly she reached a finger up to trace the line of his jaw. Rough, warm, stubble-dotted skin met the pad of her finger. He sucked in a breath and released it just as slowly, his lungs shuddering beneath her torso. “I…” she whispered. “I don’t know what to think around you.”
He caught her fingers and held them in his. “Yes, you do.” His tone was soft and coaxing. “You said it before. You know I will never hurt you. And I will never leave you alone and unprotected.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles, one by one.
Her heart stopped again at the softness of his kisses. If she had been confused before, she was officially over the cliff now. No idea which way was up. Heat from his mouth warmed her, shooting up her arm like fire. Nothing about this man said soulless murderer.
She tugged her hand away, unable to take any more of the sensation, the devastating preciousness he lavished on her. Her mind was already starting to imagine those warm lips on hers, and that brought
her up short. She couldn’t go there. The thought terrified her as much as it seemed like the absolute best idea in the world right now. But she curled her hand into his T-shirt anyway, wanting to stay pressed close to him.
Why? His kisses pushed her off kilter, but she had no desire to leave the safety of his hold. Physical contact with him registered with the same importance as breathing. Her limbs wouldn’t obey even if she’d wanted to. Something had shifted deep inside, something she couldn’t hope to explain. It should scare her. It should…but instead her mind was filled with wonder, curiosity, and temptation.

My Review

Sharon Kay creates a magical world full of a hot lash demon/watcher and witches in this book, it's book two in A Watchers Kiss series - Assassins Kiss.

Scorpio, was once an assassin, not by choice but he still killed to order. He has changed his ways and is now watcher under Arawn's watch. His currently a prisoner in a coven of witches and maybe his past is about to catch up with him in more ways than one!

Tessa, is the daughter of the coven leader. There coven has changed and so has the members life's due to the previous leaders death, which was caused by a certain Watcher! Tessa and her fellow witches are going to make him pay for his actions, that at is until she has to leave.....

Both the main characthers are very engaging, Scorpio is very smooth for a watcher, but his most definitely deadly even when his charming, his one you want on your side. Tessa isn't going to fall into Scorpio lap easily thanks to his past, he has his work cut out with this strong willed witch, she holds out longer than I expected but once his lips touch hers sparks fly and butterflies are released, those annoying ones that flutter in your tummy when you see someone you fancy.

There's always a baddy and damn Damien is bad and creepy, I sometimes take a liking to a baddy but not Damien.

This book is mostly based in the coven with the witches and Scorpio, the extras don't appear till later in the book, it was nice getting to know Scorpio more without the other watchers distracting me (they're all so yummy), but I enjoyed it when they turned up when needed and the brotherly interaction they all have.

An addictive paranormal world that's easy to read and lash demons/watchers to fall for.

Five I need my own lash demon stars
