Review - Falling Into Right by Sharon Kay

Title: Falling Into Right
Author: Sharon Kay
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 24, 2017
Cover Designer: Kim Killion

How do you recover when life kick boxes your soul?
Becca Gable is fighting to stay on her feet after a series of crushing losses. She's always been the good girl until the events of the past year push her to make a mistake she can’t take back. Now, her corporate finance job and her fiancĂ©e are gone thanks to her newly-acquired criminal record.
Shane Marlow survived an IED blast during his service in Iraq—but half his team did not. Physically healed, he returns to his home county as a K9 officer. The scars of loss run deep and though local folks admire him, no one truly gets him—until Becca literally lands in front of him.
Their bond of shared tragedy evolves into a connection both fiery and healing. But a stalker decides that Becca’s crime should stay front and center. As the unsettling episodes reveal that no part of her life is secret, Shane is all that stands between her and the enemy.

Shane tilted her chin up. Big, sad eyes stared back at him. Hell, he’d had that bleak feeling. The point where his heart hurt for his team, and he felt like he was facing a sheer vertical climb with no help. He dealt with it by working, running with Denver, shooting, hanging out on Redemption Hill. And he pushed the negative thoughts to the back of his mind. But not until Becca had he realized that meeting someone who’d walked his path could make a difference. “I see that look,” he murmured. “What look?” “The one that says you’re at the bottom of a twenty-foot pit with no ladder.” “Maybe I am,” she whispered. “How did you get out?” “Don’t know if I have,” he said. “But meeting you bumped me up higher than I was before.” Her brows knit. “How can I help you when I can’t even help myself?” “Just being you is all you need to do.” He laced his fingers with hers. “I’m not good with words. But I’ve never met anyone who’s been through anything close to what I have—losing people too soon, and not just one—except for the rest of my team. And, uh, it’s not like we hang out and talk about our feelings or anything.” She gave a half laugh. “Yeah, I guess not.” Light fingertips grazed his knuckles. “I still don’t know how I’m helping, but as long as you think I am, I wanna keep on with it.” “I like that plan.” Finally, a happy glint appeared in her eyes. “I like you.” He grinned. “Seein’ as you’re buck naked in my bed, you better.” “You’re bad.” She smacked his chest and kept her hand there, pushing him back. “Lie down.” He guessed she wanted to cuddle and that was fine with him. Stretching out on his side of the bed, he held out his arms. “Come here.” But instead, she leaned across his chest and pressed a warm kiss to his pec. Not a quick press of her lips to his skin. But one that lingered, yanking his mind to a place he hadn’t expected to go tonight. Not that he minded. “Becca?” She raised her magnetic eyes, but not her warm, naughty mouth. Her kiss, slow and languid, ignited every inch that she touched. “Mmm?” A hundred questions popped rapid fire into his head. Was she okay? Did she need to talk or to just be held or something? He’d never been good at comfort. But each thought was derailed by the fire in his veins. He trusted she’d tell him what she wanted. And right now, she didn’t need to say a word.

4.5 I'm moving to Redemption County stars

Loved Shane and Becca's romance <3

We first met Shane in book 1, his a copper as we would say in the UK or otherwise known as a police officer, his also a veteran.  His an easy going guy that enjoys his work as the K9 officer in the county.

Becca is a good person that made a mistake when she was at her lowest but she has to live with the consequences of her actions - one consequence is that she meets a hot policeman while at the courthouse.

The author takes their story slowly to begin with, well not really slowly but takes the time for the characthers to get know one another, I really enjoyed the 'courting' and the first kiss moments.  The sexual attraction between the two builds each meeting or text they exchange.

The setting is a small town where everyone seems to know everyone.  I like this setting it makes me want to move to a small American town!

The story is sweet and sexy and easy to read.  It has some angst built into the story, but generally centres around the romance, so I would say low angst.

I'm looking forward to reading more from this series and author.

MY REVIEW

I'm used to fire coming from hands and air and water doing strange things when I read a Sharon Kay book, but this is a bit different its a small town romance.

I really enjoyed both the characthers Rosie and Cruz they are both strong characthers that fill the pages.

Cruz is newly released from a 10-year sentence and has a pure bad boy look, but you soon learn his not all bad - he has a past, not all of it good but he is so much more than his past.

Rosie is a small town girl, she knows almost everyone and her brother is the cop, now if you're thinking she's all sugar and sweet you would be wrong she has a sexy devilish side which I loved.

Their story runs fairly smoothly bar a bump or two, there are many hot moments between the two and multiple sweet moments too. The setting was very picturesque and fun too!

I enjoyed my trip to Redemption County and will look out for more in this series.

4 stars

MY REVIEW

Memory’s Kiss ~ Sharon Kay

I've only read this book so far in this anthology and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the authors Lash demons so personally I would buy anthology just to read one book.

Raul is on a mission and busy rescuing people when he comes face to face with a friend he grew up with, well she is all grown up now and all woman. They shared a kiss a long time ago and Daphne never forgot that kiss, she is shocked to see her childhood crush again and especially as his all muscle and man!

Their relationship moves quickly as why not if you feel someone's your mate why wait. I loved that they knew each other and I think it helped with them getting close quickly, I found it very cute how Raul called her Daph.

Another great read.

There are some other books I'm interested in reading in this anthology and I look forward to getting to them

Review - Awakening Kiss (Watcher's Kiss, #4) by Sharon Kay

As part of the Watchers, Rhys is used to all types of combat, pursuit, and interrogation. But hacking and tracking through hidden online channels is where he excels. Shattering codes and sneaking around firewalls comes as easily to him as a swordfight or street brawl with a predatory enemy.

This isn't my first Watcher read, I really enjoy reading these books - they are full of good characthers and romance and of course the paranormal element, they are Demons - but the good kind.

This is book 4 in the Watcher series, which is a spin-off series from the Solsti Series (another to add to your to be read). So our heroine is Enza and she is of Italian descent and is a fabulous baker, she is compassionate and warm and open to discovering about a new world, which is a good thing as she is about to meet Rhys. So the hero/love interest is Rhys, his a watcher and a lash demon - the lash demons are big strong and kickass but they are soft, squidgy, sexy and lovable too.

The characthers have alternating chapters and that works well and gives you a good feel of both the main characthers.

These two meet in strange circumstances, Enza jumps into a portal and Rhys thinks she must be a baddy - it doesn't take long to figure out she is an innocent and is in need of protection from others and just maybe herself.

The book follows the two characters getting to know one another with lots of other watchers and paranormal creatures joining in. There is of course some angst and danger mixed in with their romance.

I found this book easy to read, its gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling when you've finished. The author then give you a taste of the next book.....

*I keep asking for my own lash demon but not getting one...but still its 5 stars from me.

Assasin's Kiss by Sharon Kay - Release Day - Excerpt - Review

OUT NOW!

Blurb

Warrior Scorpio finds himself alone on a botched op. No weapons, no communication devices, injured…and instantly recognized by a group of witches who want him dead.

Witch Tessa promises to marry a rival leader to save her people. But she never planned on the new prisoner in her coven. Scorpio, a rough, former mercenary makes the outrageous claim that she belongs to him.

Even from behind bars, the longer Scorpio stays, the more he unsettles Tessa and she questions all she thought she knew. Choosing him will put everyone she cares for at risk. He’s nothing like she expected, and the last thing she could dare to want.

Excerpt
They reached the forest floor, and Scorpio crouched to allow Tessa’s feet to reach the ground. “Made it,” he said.
Solid ground met her feet and logically she knew she could let go. But it was all too much. Shudders raced along her arms as she loosened her lock on his neck and her legs went ragdoll-limp. “Catch me?” She slid backward.
He spun blessedly fast and scooped her into a cradle hold against his torso. “I got you,” he whispered.
She sighed and curled into him, still too shaky to process anything. He walked away from the trunk and she wondered idly if he planned to carry her all the way home, but he stopped at a different tree and lowered them both to the soft grass. Tension leached out of her muscles as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, shielding her and soothing her with a tenderness she could never have anticipated.
“I got you,” he repeated, stroking her hair. “It’s over. I don’t detect any more wolves.”
She raised her head to look around, but all she saw were trees. She realized he had positioned them to not see any wolf bodies. “Thank goodness.” Laying her head on his chest, she listened to the strong steady thump of his heart and breathed in the clean scent of him, now tinged with the smoke of his demonfire. Thank the gods he’d been here today. What if it had just been her and Zeebi?
They’d both be dead. She shuddered.
His hand was warm on her arm, and his other was draped across her legs, holding the back of one knee. She studied them, noting several tiny scars, evidence of a life lived harshly, and also seeing the strength that could snap a neck. The push-pull tugged at her heart.
Those hands had ended hundreds of lives.
Those hands had just saved hers. Again.
How was this possible? He held her as though she were a priceless jewel.
Tessa tilted her head to look up at him. She had never noticed how long his eyelashes were. Stubble dusted his square jaw, and she wondered again at the mix of color in his hair.
He met her gaze, those incredible golden eyes simmering with a hotly sensual light. She knew about Lash demons, that their eyes gleamed when in battle, or when experiencing strong emotions. Including lust.
Something pulsed in the air between them, and slowly she reached a finger up to trace the line of his jaw. Rough, warm, stubble-dotted skin met the pad of her finger. He sucked in a breath and released it just as slowly, his lungs shuddering beneath her torso. “I…” she whispered. “I don’t know what to think around you.”
He caught her fingers and held them in his. “Yes, you do.” His tone was soft and coaxing. “You said it before. You know I will never hurt you. And I will never leave you alone and unprotected.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles, one by one.
Her heart stopped again at the softness of his kisses. If she had been confused before, she was officially over the cliff now. No idea which way was up. Heat from his mouth warmed her, shooting up her arm like fire. Nothing about this man said soulless murderer.
She tugged her hand away, unable to take any more of the sensation, the devastating preciousness he lavished on her. Her mind was already starting to imagine those warm lips on hers, and that brought
her up short. She couldn’t go there. The thought terrified her as much as it seemed like the absolute best idea in the world right now. But she curled her hand into his T-shirt anyway, wanting to stay pressed close to him.
Why? His kisses pushed her off kilter, but she had no desire to leave the safety of his hold. Physical contact with him registered with the same importance as breathing. Her limbs wouldn’t obey even if she’d wanted to. Something had shifted deep inside, something she couldn’t hope to explain. It should scare her. It should…but instead her mind was filled with wonder, curiosity, and temptation.

My Review

Sharon Kay creates a magical world full of a hot lash demon/watcher and witches in this book, it's book two in A Watchers Kiss series - Assassins Kiss.

Scorpio, was once an assassin, not by choice but he still killed to order. He has changed his ways and is now watcher under Arawn's watch. His currently a prisoner in a coven of witches and maybe his past is about to catch up with him in more ways than one!

Tessa, is the daughter of the coven leader. There coven has changed and so has the members life's due to the previous leaders death, which was caused by a certain Watcher! Tessa and her fellow witches are going to make him pay for his actions, that at is until she has to leave.....

Both the main characthers are very engaging, Scorpio is very smooth for a watcher, but his most definitely deadly even when his charming, his one you want on your side. Tessa isn't going to fall into Scorpio lap easily thanks to his past, he has his work cut out with this strong willed witch, she holds out longer than I expected but once his lips touch hers sparks fly and butterflies are released, those annoying ones that flutter in your tummy when you see someone you fancy.

There's always a baddy and damn Damien is bad and creepy, I sometimes take a liking to a baddy but not Damien.

This book is mostly based in the coven with the witches and Scorpio, the extras don't appear till later in the book, it was nice getting to know Scorpio more without the other watchers distracting me (they're all so yummy), but I enjoyed it when they turned up when needed and the brotherly interaction they all have.

An addictive paranormal world that's easy to read and lash demons/watchers to fall for.

Five I need my own lash demon stars
