My Review

There are some authors you just have to read, Anna Bloom is one of mine. I just love her writing and characters. Her characters are real, and flawed, and draw you in along with the storylines.

Some Kind of Love is a second-chance romance. It has lots of feels in it ❤️.

The story fluctuates from the present to throwbacks to Amber at 18 and Freddy at 20, and it took me right back to falling in love, yep teenage love vibes.

I loved the teenage love, but the grown-up passion and pull of Freddy and Amber was even better.

Life has ups and downs and issues that need dealing with like a husband you've separated from and don't love, an uprooted son, and a parent with dementia.

I was rooting for these two, Freddy was so caring, patient, and sexy, with a touch of bad boy. Basically a dreamboat of a book boyfriend.

The ending of the book was perfect, then there was an epilogue and the ending of that made my heart swell and smile too!

I absolutely loved this book.  It was exciting, fun, passionate with a good dose of danger and peril.

Fenix is a delicious incubus, he's dealing with a yearning to be with his mate but is unable to be with her.  I really liked him and his love for Evelyn.

Evelyn is living a lie and I wanted her to realise this fact sooner than she did but in the flow of the story it added to the passion build-up!

So basically there is a curse to break and along with that a whole lot more story to pull you in.  I enjoyed Rosalind and Vail being in this story, their relationship is cute, but a balancing act! Archer, well he was an intriguing character.

This was a great installment in one of my favorite PNR series, bring on the next book.

Looking for a Book Hangover? Look no further pick up The Last Kiss. I couldn't move on to a new book so re-read this!

A beautiful, emotional, and tragic love story.

My heart is in recovery after reading this book. It broke me, made me smile, and was definitely heartwarming.

Jules is amazing and so strong, I also loved Liv the sister and the whirlwind of a niece that reminded me of my daughter. Henri, oui the man of the book, swoon-worthy yes, sexy, business owner, the list could go on!

The chemistry between Henri and Jules is literally bouncing off the pages, I was totally pulled in, lapping up every moment they shared

There were many times I had to dry my eyes before continuing, but I loved this heartbreaking romance.

This is a book that will take you on a fulfilling emotional journey.

My Review

A delightful read. This really was a joy to devour.

The story delves into many facets of real life, so you would think joy would be the wrong word but it's not, the characters dive off the pages and into your heart and the setting sounds stunning.

Juliette is a woman that people take to, she would talk to anyone, a kind-natured person who has had a heartbreaking spanner thrown in her life plan.

This is a slow burn romance but is also about self-discovery. Enter Reid.

Reid, I knew the grumpy man was going to be of interest and I was so excited when they properly met. He's a man going through his own journey and how I loved him and wanted to hug him.

All in all this book was a perfect read for me, and my eyes misted up a couple of times along the way.

My Review

A Christmas themed rom-com and I absolutely loved it. It's a bit of Mary Poppins with some Christmas fun and romance, the difference being I loved this nanny so much more than that Mary Poppins sequel!

Barclay a widower takes on a new nanny for his two cute girls and gets Ruby. Ruby omg she's a force of nature, she really made me chuckle. I did think she pushed the boundaries quite a bit for a new employee but it was needed at times and so entertaining.

The story is mainly from Ruby's pov, but Barclay gets some smaller chapters so we get his pov and it's obvious quite soon his not as cold as he first shows, just guarded. Did I mention he's a good looking man that keeps himself fit, something Ruby can't help but notice.

I listened to the audiobook and loved the narration. There were so many moments I wanted to highlight like an ebook!

The narrator defined the characters well and gave them personality and the children's voices came over cute.

A real humorous and easy listen. Trouble is you don't want to pause it when you have to go out! I could totally see this as a rom-com on the big screen.

📚 My Review 📚

This book of poems is listed for 13-18 year olds, but personally as an adult I really enjoyed reading this poet's work.

The poems are thought-provoking and deal with many subjects that are prevalent in society. There are many that touched me including 'Spectrum' and 'My Life'. I also enjoyed 'Our Town ' as it bought back memories of being younger!

I'm going to give to my daughter to read too.

Poetry is hard to rate but the way the poems make you 'pause for thought', I'll give it five stars.

My Review

Take a bite into this book, it's a good one!

Olivia's life changes when she's out for drinks one night, she's taken to a houseful of vampires.

Talking vampires there's a few there, the main ones being the king who is beyond horrible, along with his children. Cashel is the eldest child and his dad the king loves tormenting him.

I didn't like Cashel at all to begin with but he showed a few good qualities and a softer side as the story went on. I kept wondering which is the real him!

Olivia, she is sassy maybe too sassy considering she's in a house of vamps and her blood smells so good! She is strong-willed though, but Cashel is her weakness, she wants him or is she playing him and us?

Vampires are one of my fave genres, so add in some good characters and an interesting storyline and I got a book I really enjoyed.

Did I mention there's a cliffy... Book 2 here I come.

My Review

Book 2 carries on from where book 1 ended, yes that cliff hanger and it doesn't get less angsty for a while, does it at all? I'm not sure as the vamps are still desperate to keep Olivia! There's danger everywhere and surprises.

Cashel, really catches you in this book, just in case he didn't in book 1. I found I liked his siblings a lot more in this book. Some of the other characters are horrid though.

Logan the vampire hunter was nice but no Cashel.

I loved Olivia and Cashel's growing connection and how protective they are of each other.

The book ends on another cliffy though, so book 3 can't be kept waiting too long.

Omg that was a fab read, the author put us through a lot. I have so many emotions. An eventful but perfect finish to Cashel and Olivia's story.

Some books you know which way they will go, I thought I knew with this one but every time I thought ok, something else happened and took us on another twist.

Lucas what can I say, his a darling, a vampire darling but omg he is special.

Cashel is desperate to get back to Olivia but what he comes back to is not what he expected and seriously complicates what his plans were.

Olivia is strong and inquisitive, sometimes too much and puts herself in danger. She has to muster every strength she has to survive this book.

My heartfelt like it would break a few times through this book. The storyline flowed and couldn't wait to get back to the book every chance I got.

Started Scandal Queen as soon as I finished Tabloid Princess, it starts off where book 1 finishes.

Emotions felt while reading in no particular order..... Worried, swooned, got anxious, smiled lots, angsty, swooned some more, got tearful and more swooning, lots of smiling.

A great conclusion to Leia and Oliver's story, both wonderful characters, both strong and full of love with a caring nature. Little Daisy and Nana make it all that more real.

The romance between Leia and Oliver is heart-warming and you feel the passion through the writing. You do wonder though if they'll ever get a moment when they're not being judged or having a moment ruined by royal life or something from Leia's life being dug up.

I found their story delightful and I loved being absorbed into this royal/fairytale romance. I feel a book hangover coming on, missing Ollie and Leia already!

My Review

A story so fanciful but so wonderful, I loved it! 

When Leia meets Oliver the future king of Great Britain she doesn't hold back, says exactly what she thinks. In a way she reminds of Bridgette Jones! Leia had an undesirable upbringing and is also a single mum - a perfect match for a prince. 

Prince Oliver.... Let me pick myself off the floor, has he tried saying Princess Tracey, I may come with 3 grown-ish kids and hubby but I can squeeze him in somewhere 🙂. Seriously his swoon-worthy, he might mess up a little here and there but in my opinion all for the right reason. 

This book is no fairytale, well it is sort of, but with Leia's life and work it brings up issues people deal with daily.

I'm diving into book 2 now as I can't wait to see how this will work out, personally I think she would make a caring and compassionate princess, fingers crossed.

I stayed up late last night to finish this book and how I loved it. I won't lie, its an emotional read, just read the book description! My heart broke for Dani, her grief came through the pages and made me feel so much.

Dani has lost her hubby and daughter in one swoop, her life is over in one way. She needs an outlet, she can't speak as she has lost her voice through the shock of her loss, so she writes a letter to Trey - her hubby and puts in a bottle on the beach. She is shocked to receive a response.

The letters are not from Trey, they're from someone who understands her pain and wants to help - they are touching and heartbreaking, but have an uplifting edge to them too. Sometimes we need someone who is not family to open up to and that is true for Dani and her letters help her so much.

You can think well how can there be romance in a book about heartbreak, but oh there is, it creeps up on you and it's wonderful and heartwarming.

This book takes you through so much. Dani's journey is not an easy one and some of the twists left me with my mouth gaping, but I loved this book.

A must-read for fans of an emotional read.

Loved it

I was hooked from the beginning, the start was amusing, book club sounded just like me and my girly friends talking 😃

Katie is a divorcee with 3 kids, she's your run of the mill woman, doesn't see her own strengths, has typical age 45+ issues, along with a very honest voice.

Okay I'm considering doctoring some of my bags if it brings a Dex into my life...... bugger I'm married so that won't be a good idea lol

Dex is the perfect silver fox and is swoon-worthy. He calls everyone darlin as he is American and damn it sounds good coming from him, but he calls Katie Kat <3 His a tattooist with good morals and is so kind and considerate and most definitely SEXY!

The story and humour made me giggle and quite a few bits made me belly laugh - especially the 'escape' when Katie and Dex are at the gym together!

I loved how real Katie was and other than the fact I'm married, I almost thought Katie was based around me. Yes Dex is a dreamboat and most probably more fantasy, but who cares I loved him.

So, if you're looking for a Funny and heartwarming story, dive in and meet Katie, a real woman and Dex a dream silver fox <3
