MY REVIEW

A journey from childhood to adult, it starts off with cute summer afternoons spent in the countryside - then curiosity and sexuality come into play.

Edi is our main man who when holidaying with his grandma in the summer makes new friends - one he finds makes him feel 'funny' Robert. Robert is a little older so holds that mystery to a younger Edi, I loved the name he called Edi 'squirt'. This book follows them into adulthood and the turbulent relationship between the two.

I really liked Edi, he is forever the optimist hoping Robert will stop trying to fit his parent's ideals, he has such patience. Robert, he annoyed me - I believe I was meant to get frustrated with him - all part of the journey.

So as I mentioned this book goes from cute summer fun to sexy bedroom fun.

I'm jumping straight into book 2, keeping my fingers crossed that Robert finds himself - life is too short to pretend to be something you're not!

MY REVIEW

In book 1 I was so invested in Edi and Robert I hardly noticed Seba (kid), so in a way this book totally derailed my idea of where the story was going, seems Edi was in same boat as me! 

 Seba was the youngest of the 3 men in the story so in a way I hadn't noticed him grow up before, even though it was obvious as he moved through the educational system, he was always there for Edi in book 1 offering friendship, support and more! This book made me see him completely different. This really is a journey for all involved, it's sweet, sexy and moving.

Angels feather is book 1 of a new science fiction romance series.

Adam lives on earth with his mum, the planet is failing, he watched his dad being executed by a flyer at young age. He is different to the general population.

Earth is watched over by flyers, they look like angels but they're not. The flyers are there to KILL the humans trying to escape earth....

Michael is an enforcer flyer and carries out executions. His not human that is obvious, he also doesn't experience emotions like humans, until Adam - when his world gets complicated.

This is a great opener for a new sci-fi series. The story explores humanity, family, a wish to survive and of course, love and passion.

The flyer before me sucked in a breath, his bright blue eyes widening slightly.

“Michael?” My voice sounded higher than I’d intended it to be. Closer to a scared little girl than the confident male I wanted him to see in me.

He kept staring, his eyes glued to my chest. I suddenly realized I was only wearing some battered jeans, and started feeling extremely uneasy and self-conscious. The flyers and a lot of men in my village would prance about half naked, but I never shed my shirt like that. The garage was the only place where I’d succumb to the heat and concede it was more comfortable to work like this.

“Hello Adam,” he finally said, his voice shaking a little. “You always work so hard.” I saw his nostrils flaring as his eyes roamed over me. I felt woozy and breathless under his scrutiny, and my damned nether regions started to stir. This was not happening, I would not pop wood in front of Michael. My secret would be out in the open and I wasn’t ready for it.

I turned slightly so that my left side was what he’d face. Not outright rude, but enough to give me a moment to catch my breath.

“Yes, well, it tends to get lengthy and tedious when you don’t know what you’re doing.”

Michael walked to the tractor, surveying the many parts of my puzzle spread on the floor. He tapped the hood and tilted his head. “Open it up, let’s see what you’ve done so far.”

I had to shake my head to snap out of it. The idea of Michael surveying my progress with the tractor engine seemed so surreal, I had to fight the need to pinch myself, just to make sure I wasn’t really sleeping. One of his brows shot up and he pointed his chin to the hood. That was all the incentive I needed and I stumbled forward, managing not to fall. I popped the hood open and stood next to him as he took in my meek progress.

“Seems to me you’re well on your way, Adam.” A small smile played at the corner of his mouth and it made me almost combust with the heat burning within me. I caught myself before I pushed my groin against the tractor in search of something to relieve some of the sudden pressure. “Do you have a blueprint for the engine?”

“FLYERS!” THE FRIGHTENED voice pierced the air and shot straight to my heart, gripping and squeezing it tightly. My breath hitched and I dropped the tool I was holding.

What we used to know as angels became Earth’s wardens. Flyers, as they call themselves, are the universe’s enforcers. They make sure we stay in our jail and that we obey the rules. We can build anything, do anything, destroy anything, as long as it is not an attempt to build new spaceships or weapons that could damage the spherical force field prison that keeps us locked in here.

“Damn it all to hell.” The wrench was lodged between the rusty parts of the old tractor I was trying to repair. Our village’s hope for better crops, it was, and I’d just gotten something stuck in it. Served me right for thinking all it took to become a mechanic was an eidetic memory. I had no other choice though. Most engineers and mechanics were either hiding, always on the run, or dead. Why they all insisted on building spaceships and trying to leave Earth was beyond me. We had other pressing needs, exploring the universe should have been our last concern.

“Hurry up, kid. It’s the Punisher.” My uncle gripped my shoulder and tried to make me move. He needn’t worry, I’d never miss a chance to see Michael.

Michael, the archangel of long lost tales of divinity, is the leader of the squad of flyers that guards us. They have set up camp on Saturn and use their all-seeing eyes to monitor our every move. Everyone hates the flyers, more so Michael. Most don’t even remember his name, he’s just referred to as the Punisher. Whenever someone does something against the rules enforced upon us, Michael and his angel guards come down to Earth and exert punishment. It’s always very public, broadcast to the furthest corners still inhabited. He comes, he crushes, he leaves. Each time, people add to their hate for him.

Trev ran past me as he shouted, “Give me five.”

His five-minute prep for a night out had always baffled me. All he did was rush through a shower, pull some clothes out of his closet and throw them on, run his fingers through his hair, a comb if it was really needed, and, voilà, he was ready, all perfect and sexy. I could never pull that off. If I tried, my hair would end up sticking out in all directions, my clothes wouldn’t match, and I’d end up looking like a hobo.

True to style, he rumbled down the stairs five minutes later, smelling divine and looking as if he’d stepped out of a magazine cover. I swallowed hard, unable to stop myself from taking him in. How my cock did not tear through my jeans, I couldn’t say. All I knew was I was now an expert at dressing in a way that would hide my bulge and keep it contained as much as humanly possible.

He hooked his arm around my shoulders and walked me outside.

“Where are we going, Trev?” I asked, looking up into his dark eyes.

I would introduce him as my brother, sure, but I never called him that when we were alone together, nor after that first introduction. I avoided referring to him as my sibling and used his name instead. I preferred his name; the same name I uttered on so many nights while writhing on top of my sheets and fucking my hand. Although the knowledge of how twisted I was never left me, I didn’t need to keep reminding myself he was my brother every time I addressed him.

“Mackie’s Bar and Grill?” he asked, raising a brow. He wasn’t taller by more than an inch or two, but it allowed him to look down at me, and I was happy with that. I loved to smile up at Trev and see him smile back, especially when he held me like this. It allowed my imagination to turn and twist the moment into something it was not.

My Review

I really enjoyed this book, and it is really thought provoking. 

I grew up in stepfamily and the thought of lusting after one of my siblings makes me feel sick!. I have to clarify that Tristan and Trevor are not blood-related at all, but they were brought up as siblings.

Tristan the main characther is gay and is a blogger. He knows exposing his feelings could destroy his family, so he keeps his distance, what makes it worse is that Trevor is also gay!

If I'm making it sound quite depraved, I don't mean to its just an inconvenient love/lust, it is a taboo type of subject but the book is entertaining and enjoyable.

Tristan is so tortured by his feelings for his brother, he keeps an anonymous blog that he lets his feelings out on, I liked the fact he disables comments.

He loves his family so has to go home sometimes and when he does his big brother Trevor welcomes him with open arms and loves spending time with him.

When something major happens its too much for Tristan and his mum steps in and all I can say is she's a rock star, she doesn't sugar coat but is supportive and understanding.

I really liked both the main charcthers and enjoyed the outcome of the story.

As I slouched in my seat, barely visible over the steering wheel, I saw a strange bike pass by, make an illegal U-turn, and pull in behind me. Oh fuck, no! This couldn’t be. I slid further down into my seat, but my head turned without my saying so, my eyes glued to the image in the mirror. Strong thighs carried an impressive, jean-clad package closer to me. I could tell my brother’s package from thousands. I’d been lusting after that particular cock since I was ten. I knew every vein, every ridge, every shade that had ever adorned it. I groaned and pinched the bridge of my nose. Sweet gods of brotherly love, keep me in one piece. I wasn’t supposed to see him till tonight. He was working or something; I didn’t know what. I never paid attention to Mom’s chatter.
“Hey, Trist. What do you think? Are they going to revive her this time?” His warm yet teasing voice washed over me, sending shivers up and down my body. Eight fucking months since I’d seen him last and this was how much I’d evolved. Less than a minute and I was already losing my shit.
“Trevor, what the fuck are you doing here? I thought Dad was going to pick me up.” I cringed at the harshness of my tone and felt more than heard his gasp. I was so attuned to how my brother reacted, I could have guessed every little gesture he’d make to respond to absolutely everything.

“Wow, Trist, aren’t you happy to see me,” he said in a barely audible whisper.
I pushed myself to look at him and gave him an apologetic smile. Taking in those dark eyes, the high, angular cheekbones, the olive, flawless skin, and the full, dark red lips with their natural pout, I sighed and wondered how exactly I was going to be here for the next three nights and not go completely off my rocker.
“Sorry, Trev. I’m tired, this car’s shit, and Dad said—”
“Don’t sweat it.”
He cut me off harshly, waving a hand. I’d hurt his feelings, I knew. Ever since I’d fled to college, I’d been giving my brother the cold shoulder. It was hard at first as we’d always been close, but the more time passed, the better I became at it.
“Come on, get in. It’s hot as hell out there.”
To my relief, he nodded and walked around to the passenger seat. He got in with that annoying grace of his which was unfathomable coming from someone who’d never been involved in any activity that would explain such a trait. Quite the contrary, he’d always played on the bad boy side, loud and threatening, getting himself into trouble more often than not.
