This book is set in a post-apocalyptic world, it's a new ice age and there are 2 factions living on planet earth both thinking they have the right ideas.
Tudor is from the feathers group, I'm calling them that as they have feathers, they get injected in childhood with an algae type serum and develop feathers and these protect them from the cold - they're not covered in feathers like a bird but in certain areas they have small feathers. Tudor is a warrior, she had a choice breeder or warrior and she chose well as she is a strong warrior. She has been happy to kill the enemy until one day she can't do it anymore and deserts them.
Rigby is an army leader, his strong and just wants peace but he has to continue protecting his people. When he first discovers Tudor he belittles her and humiliates her in front of his men, but takes her in. Seeing a spark in her, he is intrigued.
The characthers are both very strong willed, Rigby sees himself as a dom and wants to see Tudor submit. He doesn't do a lot of breaking sexually he generally spanks her early in the book.
I found them an entertaining couple and liked it when they got more sexually intimate and grew closer emotionally. I did find Rigby amusing as he wanted to protect her honour and wouldn't make love before they committed BUT would do everything else possible!
There is more to this book than romance, there is a war going on and danger is all about in the battle scenes.
I enjoyed this read and liked the ending.
