The Prince's Bride (Modern Fairytales #2) by Diane Alberts - Review

The Prince's Bride

Alicia Forkes went to a trendy club looking for a way to forget her troubles, and she found that in the arms of the gorgeous man who swept her off of her feet…and into one of the hottest encounters she’d ever had in her life. Awesome sex with a stranger is now something she can check off her bucket list.

Except he isn’t exactly a stranger. He’s the guy who broke her heart when they were teens, an experience she doesn’t plan on repeating.

Prince Leo can’t believe he’s finally found the woman he’s loved for years, and she wants nothing to do with him. When she shows up at his office, she looks anything but princess-like. In fact, she’s cursing him to hell and back. She may not be Cinderella, but he’s determined to prove he’s the prince for her––even if it means letting her go.

My Review

I found this book a delight, a perfect read on my lazy Sunday.

Alicia is doing her best to tick off some items on her bucket list, she isn't dying though - but a dear friend did and set her up a list to get her living more! One item is to have a one night stand, and it's certainly hot when she does. Trouble is her one-night stand has repercussions she never imagined!

This one-night stand happens in a foreign country, a made-up country admittedly, with royalty and some strange rules. Yes, these rules are not PC, but who cares this is a romance and escapism!

Alicia is going nowhere until next month as she just happened to sleep with the prince and they need to know no heirs have been made...... Off the tower with her.... no not quite she has to stay as a guest in the castle, in the lap of luxury for a few weeks. She doesn't take this news very well added into that is the shock of who the prince is! Alicia is a great character, she is strong but soft and I loved how she said what she wanted, prince or no prince.

The prince, he works hard to win over Alicia, she is not happy about her surprise or being a guest in the castle. I liked him and kept willing him on.

The story is loosely set around Cinderella, a masked night club, a sneaker/trainer and of course the prince. As I said I found it delightful and will be diving into some more of this author's modern fairytales.

4 delightful stars
