Mogul or Monster?
Billionaire Weston Wilcox hasn't been seen by the outside world in almost a decade. No face to face meetings. No interviews. No social media accounts. Despite his ghost demeanor he continues to financially flourish and make his fellow investors richer with every decision. Throughout the years many have sought to discover the man inside the mogul while others have spread legends painting him as a heartless monster consumed by greed. None of it matters to him. Weston's true identity is secured away in his estate of solitude, which consists of the only people in the entire world he believes he can trust. That is until he's asked to allow a guest access to the property under extreme circumstances. One he knows he shouldn't. It doesn't take long before his world is turned upside down, unexpected threats arise, and Weston's forced to ask himself what really should be kept private?
I love discovering new authors and when I was invited to read this book I couldn't resist the blurb and I have to say it is a very entertaining read.
I loved the characthers, I loved the banter and conversations, I liked the storyline a lot.
This author writes awesome characters. Their story is told in alternating chapters which gives us a rounded feel of both Wes and Bryn.
Brynlyn visits her sick mum at the private estate where her mother works and lives, on arrival she warns them she is not one to follow rules!
Wes is a private man, hides away from the world in his large estate and his dedicated staff. He has rules in his home but his not horrible, well I didn't think he was anyway. His very mysterious and walks around with his hood up. As the story progresses you get little crumbs of information about him to draw you in more. Early on you learn his parents are dead and his scarred....
Bryn, omg I love her she is a wicked character, she has great bravado. Wes can't help noticing her on arrival and starts watching her from a distance. Within 24 hours of being on the estate Bryn is calling J.T. 'puppet boy' and her invisible at the time host 'captain kirk'.
J.T needs a mention he is Wes's best friend, right-hand man and the face of the business. He gets on really well with Bryn and they have fun Star Trek themed conversations - I really liked J.T.
I loved watching Wes come out of the shadows, he doesn't calm Bryn down as she is great as she is, but they are good together. Their relationship does move quickly, Bryn knows what she likes and is not shy about getting it, she is not after his money though she wasn't even after his heart to begin with, but the more time they spend together the more they need one another.
The book ends HFN and there is another book to come, I will be adding this to my TBR.
4.5 stars
