The Agent by Ellen Lane - Audio Book Review

The Agent
by

Alice Tate is a fashion designer and a tabloid sensation. As a member of the Tate family, she’s always been certain that she can have everything she wants in life: Luxury, a loving family, a successful career or even men at her beck and call. This easy access to everything makes her feel apathetic and uninterested in anyone.
Russell Darwell is a British billionaire superagent that represents Hollywood’s elite in America. He is a man of high caliber: super rich, classy, charming and successful. After a youth of decadence Russell has never believed that he would find true love and he's sworn only to live for himself and his own success.
However, after casually meeting at a fashion-show fundraiser, Alice discovers that the certainty she once felt towards men seems to have deserted her when she becomes blindsided by Russell’s intriguing personality.
And Russell's self-centered lifestyle, is whittled away by designer Alice Tate -the kind of woman he has never known – powerful enough to make him face the demons of his past and wonder: can he ever be certain about love again?

MY REVIEW

Alice is a successful designer and is a well-known socialite who has brief flings with men. I did like her, especially as she tries to fight her attraction to Russell - even if she fails!

Russell, is a well-known agent, who keeps women at arm's length, but Russell is drawn to Alice. It's obvious he has a history that makes him try to keep away. He is a gentleman on the surface, but I liked him more when his seductive side came through.

This romance is drawn out, they play games but that makes it more fulfilling when they get it on! They wouldn't put it that way as they are 'well to do' lol

It's another world to normal people's lives, posh hotels, private jets etc, but under that they're still human with emotions and issues.

I have to say a latecomer in this book is Franklin and I found him an entertaining character!

I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it. My only criticism would be the narrator did an extremely posh voice for a couple of the characters, which I found a little too much.

All in all, I'd recommend this story, get whisked across the oceans in this billionaire romance. ❤️
